Low-carb gimmicks leave you fatter and poorer

CNBC has an excellent article on new products falsely claiming to be low on carbohydrates. The publication says consumers should be on the look out for: new labels on old products; tricky labeling ("carb-friendly" instead of "low-carb"); marketing of net carbs; and dietary supplements that claim to block the absorption of carbs.
