Carl's Jr., an early adopter to low-carb fast food fare, has announced the immediate g of a low-carb breakfast bowl. Hardees today launched a similar item. The two chains share common ownership.
The new menu item, from bottom to top, includes two scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, a slice of Swiss cheese, and a "Loaded Omelet" made with sausage, crumbled bacon, diced ham, and cheddar cheese. The product is topped with more crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese -- all packaged conveniently in a 20-oz plastic bowl.
Carl's Jr.'s low-carb burgers now account for 1/3 of all burgers the chain sells. The new breakfast bowl includes 5 grams of carbs.
