McDonald's to expand bunless burger sales

Posted by Luis F. Escalante on April 8 in Restaurants

mcdonalds.gifWhile some McDonald's have had bunless burgers and chicken sandwiches for several months, the company said today it plans to offer the low-carb versions nationally by early next month. Costing the same as the regular sandwich, the burger patties will come on a bed of lettuce in a small salad bowl, with a knife and fork.

"This is about consistent presentation," said McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman. He also said that McDonald's doesn't plan to advertise the option or place it on menu boards. Restaurant brochures will note it, however.
