Plus-size problems

Newsweek has an interesting article on one man’s struggle with being overweight. While not specifically related to low-carb (though he did restrict carbohydrate intake to lose weight) it’s a great read and may help inspire others. The article notes that for some people food is an addiction like any other:
bq. Dieting can address only the symptoms of our malady, not the cause. A no-carb regime can change a troubled fat person into a troubled thin person. We must be taught to look beyond quick-hit “extrinsics” such as food or sex for our happiness. Fat chance.
William Leith, the focus of the article, wrote a book called The Hungry Years : Confessions of a Food Addict (cover shown at right).
