1.5 billion obese in 2015, WHO

The World Health Organization believes that the obesity rate could hit 1.5 billion over the next ten years. That would be a 50% increase over today’s levels. Most interesting is that obesity rates are quickly growing in poor nations.

bq. According to the UN health agency, more than 75 percent of women over the age of 30 are now overweight in countries as diverse as Barbados, Egypt, Malta, Mexico, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States.
