Understanding Carb Counts

bq. I made your recipe for Basic Flax Meal Focaccia Bread. It is delicious. But, I have a question. The package of flax seed meal says there are 5 grams of carbohydrate per 2 T serving. The recipe calls for 2 cups of the flax seed meal. How does that work out to only 0.8 grams of carbohydrate per each of 12 servings? Does the flax seed meal lose carbs during the cooking process?
