Review: Konjac Shirataki Noodles

I recently told you about this seemingly amazing product called shirataki noodles that give you everything you like about traditional pasta without the high-carb content you don’t want.

Well, I was finally able to try them for the first time last night. I got the Konjac brand of shirataki and here are just a few of my thoughts from my experience with these miracle noodles.

bq. First I drained the noodles (which did smell a little fishy) in hot water for about 2 minutes and then I poured a little extra virgin olive oil on top, sprinkled some Garlic AlsoSalt directly on the shirataki noodles, and mixed some sugar-free Hunt’s spaghetti sauce in until all of the noodles were completely covered.

As was suggested, I let the noodles soak up the flavor of the sauce in my refrigerator for a couple of hours and doctored it up the way I like to eat pasta. I placed it in the microwave for a couple of minutes to heat it up and I sat down at the table to see what all the fuss was about these shirataki noodles.

bq. When it came time for me to take a bite, I didn’t really knowing what to expect. With a little trepidation, I spun my fork round and round in what looked like a normal pasta dinner. As I moved the fork closer to my mouth…
