Low-Carb Energizing Or Is It Agonizing?

Posted by Jimmy Moore on March 20 in Low-carb side effects

There are two schools of thought regarding the side effect of being on a low-carb diet: it gives you tons of energy you never knew you had or it completely wipes you out making you feel dead tired all the time.

So which is true?

One person e-mailed me stating she can't find the energy to keep doing her low-carb lifestyle for much longer.

I have not seen the increase in energy that I would expect after losing so much weight. I am most of the time exhausted for no good reason. What is my problem?!

At the same time, another person e-mailed me exclaiming how his energy levels have gone crazy after just three days on the Atkins diet.

After the first 3 days of feeling like complete crap, my energy level has just EXPLODED. I have been more productive in the last few weeks than any other 3-week period in my life. In fact, today my wife (who I always considered to be the most productive person I have ever met) actually described this new energy level as “sometimes annoying.”

So what's the deal? Why is there such a discrepancy in how low-carb makes you feel? Is it energizing or agonizing?
