Are Vitamins Doing More Harm Than Good?

Filed under: In The News — @ March 21, 2006

Do you take vitamins to help supplement your low-carb lifestyle? Did you know you might be doing more harm than good to your health by doing so?

Or so says an article from The Wall Street Journal this week making the “case against vitamins.” The story claims that studies prove that vitamins may harm our health rather than produce the improvements we are looking for.

As a strong supporter of vitamins, I’m not convinced.

bq. From day one of my low-carb lifestyle, I have taken calcium, fish oil, fiber, and a multivitamin to supplement my low-carb program. I recently added Vitamin C to that group of pills to keep me healthy and sick-free. Actually, since I started taking vitamins in January 2004, I have not been sick even once (not even a cold!). Achooo!

There are groups out there who are doing everything they can to abolish vitamins from store shelves in America which would ostensibly benefit and bring profits to the pharmaceutical companies who are losing BIG BUCKS because people are getting healthier using supplements instead.
