Health Insurance Companies Offering Weight Loss Advice

Does your health insurance company offer you any unsolicited weight loss advice? Mine did this week in a flyer they mailed to the homes of everyone they insure. While I can appreciate their desire to help people get healthier through weight loss, some of their tips were not what I would consider good for people on a low-carb lifestyle.

From recommendations to eating less fat, ordering soup and salad when you dine out, and eating more whole-wheat products, these aren’t exactly compatible with my low-carb lifestyle. At the same time, though, I credit them for suggesting people exercise more, eat less sugar and processed foods, and to be sure you always eat breakfast.
