If Grandma’s Fat, Then She Needs To Lose Weight

It’s almost hard to believe that we even need to discuss this subject, but anyone who is overweight or obese should do whatever they can to lose weight for the sake of their health and other factors. The same holds true for senior citizens.

There’s a pervading thought out there that surmises once people reach a certain age in life that they shouldn’t worry about watching their weight anymore. This is not a very wise decision in my opinion.

bq. It’s utterly ridiculous to think we’ve come up with the excuse that some people are simply too old for weight loss. Baloney! If you are obese, I don’t care how old you are, YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT! Period! Eventually that gut hanging out of the front of your body and those thunder thighs will weigh you down so much that your health will be in jeopardy.

Actually, a new study released today from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis confirms that elderly people who lose weight improve their overall health and increase their mobility heading into their twilight years.
