Low-Carb Weight Loss Success Invited To Governor’s Mansion For Healthy Challenge Ceremony

When the governor of your state invites you to visit him at his mansion in the state capital, it’s probably a good idea for you to accept the invitation. :)

That’s exactly what happened this week to me when South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford and his wife First Lady Jenny Sanford requested my presence at the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia, South Carolina on Thursday, May 18, 2006 for a special awards ceremony open house celebrating healthy living.

It seems my 180-pound low-carb weight loss story attracted the attention of Gov. Sanford’s Healthy SC Challenge committee so much so that they decided to allow me to be a part of their awards ceremony. What an honor!

A few months ago I had wondered if they would be open to the message of low-carb since most of the information provided about the Healthy SC Challenge seemed to focus on the low-fat/low-calorie diet.

I’m thrilled they chose to recognize a low-carber and I will proudly represent all the people who are on the low-carb lifestyle when I attend this event on Thursday afternoon.
