Statin Standoff: Lipitor Maker Gets Sued Over Side Effects

Posted by Jimmy Moore on June 10 in Health

For those of you who are on a low-carb diet and your cholesterol levels may have increased to the point that your doctor is recommending you go on a cholesterol-lowering statin drug such as Lipitor, then you might want to pay attention to this story.

Two lawsuits against Pfizer, makers of Lipitor, were filed on Wednesday in New York state court after the men in the complaint contended that their health was adversely effected from taking the #1 bestselling drug in the world on the advice of their doctor.

"[Lipitor] ruined my life," one of the plaintiffs said.

Not surprisingly, Pfizer, who stands to make $13 billion off the sales of Lipitor this year, said they will stand up to these "baseless" lawsuits.

Click here to read more about what these men claim Lipitor did to them and why I believe this is probably just the first of many more acts of litigation to come.
