Atkins Donates $450,000 To UConn Low-Carb Researchers

Just as she has done with endowed chairs at The University of Texas Southwestern and The University of Michigan in recent months, Veronica Atkins through the Dr. Robert C. Atkins Foundation has donated $450,000 to the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education to help carry on their current 7-year research into the low-carb diets.

Dr. Jeff Volek, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at UConn, has been on the cutting edge of bringing useful low-carb research to the forefront of the health debate and will be one of the benefactors of these new funds.
