You Gotta Love It: Portland Folks Try The Low-Car Diet (and I Don’t Mean Low Carb!)

Filed under: In The News — @ August 12, 2006

Now, this is entertaining. A group of 24 Portland area people decided to test a new kind of diet. It’s called “The Low-Car Diet,” and I don’t mean that they trimmed carbs.

Rather, they opted to give up their automobiles for 30 days. (But they did get some transportation help, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting). Whether or not you decide to give up your car entirely or at least partly, this is certainly a viable weight-loss idea — just cut back on your car use whenever you can. Of course, this is what experts often advise. So, let’s hear it for walking instead of driving!
