Beyonce Admits Folly of Maple Syrup Diet

This piece is overdue. I was about to post this a few days ago before I inadvertantly almost sliced off the top of my thumb…

Beyonce Knowles publicly denounced the the maple-syrup based liquid diet that she followed to quickly lose lose 20 pounds for her role in the movie Dreamgirls.

“I would not recommend it if someone wasn’t doing a movie, because there are other ways to lose weight,” the singer, 24, told Kate Garraway of Britain’s GMTV morning show when quizzed about rumors that she’d lost weight for the film on this sugar-filled regimen.

Well, that’s nice that Beyonce saw the folly of her ways — but unfortunately, now other people who want to lose weight are trying to learn more about the potentially dangerous sugar-filled diet, which reportedly involves drinking maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and water for up to 10 times a day.
