Low-Carb Exposes Extreme Carbohydrate Consumption Of Other Diets

In Episode 83 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we discuss carbohydrates–GASP!–and their role in a low-carb diet–DOUBLE GASP! Although we’re often told that low-carbers completely reject all carbs of any kind, the truth might just surprise you. Hear about the carbs most of us DO eat on a low-carb diet by clicking on the “Play In Popup” link below or by downloading it to your iPod:

The whole low-carb means “no carb” correlation that has been sprung on our culture by the health “experts” and their willing accomplices in the media has long distorted what truly healthy low-carb living is all about. While people who are livin’ la vida low-carb do indeed eat LESS carbs (sometimes substantially less!) than the typical diet, the fact is we DO eat carbs. This will be news to many people.

But the point is our carb intake, which could range from nearly zero all the way up to 100g daily depending on the individual, is the norm while people who eat hundreds and even over 1000g carbs in a day (I regularly did prior to going on the Atkins diet in 2004) are on the extreme level of carbohydrate consumption. Now you tell me who’s eating healthier–someone eating 50g carbs or 500g carbs? It’s obvious, isn’t it?

What are some of the healthy carbs that you consume as part of your low-carb lifestyle? Why do you choose to eat those specific kinds of carbs in your diet? Also, what carbohydrates have you vowed to either greatly reduce or NEVER eat again?

Let’s talk about it and learn from each other what livin’ la vida low-carb means to each of us. This should be educational for everyone (are you listening, media?).

Don’t miss Thursday’s episode of “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore” as I’ll have an interview with reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Gil Wilshire here to talk about the importance of a controlled-carb approach to treating infertility and how conditions such as metabolic syndrome and PCOS are improved on low-carb which makes a pregnancy more likely to happen. This will be a CAN’T MISS episode so we’ll see you then!
