Phinney, Volek Discuss The History And Science Behind Low-Carb Diets

Special THANKS to Atkins Nutritionals for sharing this presentation

Whenever you have the chance to hear from some of the best and brightest minds in the world about low-carbohydrate diet science and health research, it’s something you don’t want to miss. But many of you were disappointed that you were unable to access the audio of an in-depth presentation about low-carb diets by Dr. Stephen Phinney and Dr. Jeff Volek sponsored by Atkins Nutritionals on August 14, 2008. So I contacted Colette Heimowitz at Atkins Nutritionals and she was delighted to have me share this with my readers at “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb.”

In Episode 170, 171, and 172 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” you’ll hear an overview of the scientific history of low-carb dieting, recent research and highlights from some of the upcoming studies that continue to support the health benefits related to diets that focus on reduced levels of carbohydrates. You’ll note that they reference following along with slides and you can access the PDF file of these slides by CLICKING HERE.

I apologize for the audio quality of this presentation. This was a teleconference call and the quality is fairly typical of what you get from those. But I think you’ll be able to hear enough from Dr. Phinney and Dr. Volek to understand what they’re saying. I will work on conducting my own interviews with both of these giants in the low-carb research world in the coming months so we can follow-up on the information they presented here. Again, we are thankful to Atkins Nutritionals for sharing this with us. Be sure you DON’T miss the questions at the end of the teleconference in Episode 172!

Do you have any comments about this teleconference with Dr. Phinney and Dr. Volek? Talk about it the show notes section of Episode 170, 171, and 172. Again, we appreciate Atkins Nutritionals for sharing this with us so we can all benefit from the information that was discussed.

We’ve got two more podcasts coming up on Thursday and Friday when I’ll air for you a two-part interview with Dr. Mary C. Vernon answering many questions from members of my “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Discussion” forum. If you’ve never heard Dr. Vernon, then you’re in for a real treat. COME BACK and LISTEN! :)
