Dr. John Salerno: Insulin-Resistant May Need 20-Day ‘Starvation’ Fat Fast

Atkins disciple Dr. John Salerno strong believer in high-fat, low-carb

When the late, great Dr. Robert C. Atkins so tragically passed away after slipping and falling on an icy sidewalk in New York City in 2003, everyone thought the low-carb diet died along with him. But what those in the media and the so-called health “experts” who made this proclamation neglected to realize are all the people who were mentored by Dr. Atkins to implement healthy low-carb lifestyle changes in their own patients…and will be around for many more years to come. Today we have an interview to share with one such physician who proudly carries on the Atkins legacy in his New York-based practice–Dr. John Salerno.

In Episode 196 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we hear from the founder of Dr. John Salerno Center For Complementary Medicine as he discusses his memories of working with Dr. Atkins, his rather unique and some may say controversial method for helping his especially insulin-resistant patients, what kind of ailments he treats in his practice with a holistic approach, and other alternative medicine solutions to common health problems. Dr. Salerno is excited about the future of low-carb medicine here in the United States and in Japan where he has consulting offices as well. Tune in today to hear from a man who is working hard to make Dr. Atkins proud.
