Help Me In Supporting Kevin Kennedy-Spaien And Disc Of Light Media’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fundraiser

Filed under: Events — jimmy @ 4:53 pm

My podcast producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien is raising money for cystic fibrosis

Longtime fans of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” podcast already know about my wonderful executive producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien. He was the man who recruited me to be a part of a now-defunct healthy lifestyle collaboration show featuring Chris Brogan, Reinhard Engels, and others called “The Health Hacks Podcast” back in the summer of 2006. And as we shared together during our 200th episode in 2008, it was Kevin’s vision to give me my own personal weekly program dedicated to low-carb living and the rest, they say, is history. While people have said some very nice things about the show, none of it would have ever been possible without the foresight of Kevin.

With that in mind, I wanted to share with you about a charity project that both he and his lovely wife Eve are currently working on to benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A family friend of theirs has two children who have been stricken with cystic fibrosis and so this is a subject matter that is near and dear to their hearts. It’s one of the reasons they are so passionately involved in helping raise money for this worthy cause.

Kevin and Eve are the owners of a small independent label called Disc Of Light which sells some truly fantastic meditation CDs like their latest one entitled The Beach: A Modern Method For Relaxation. I’ve heard these instrumental tracks produced by Kevin along with Eve’s calming voice sharing the soothing sounds of meditative thought and I can honestly say they are well worth the investment towards improving your overall mental well-being. After a rough day of work, these meditations will allow your mind, body, and spirit to rest and reconnect in regenerative ways.

Here’s a video from Kevin about this special fundraiser for CFF:

So, here’s the deal: Every Disc of Light meditation CD that is sold through Amazon or CDBaby from now through December 31, 2009 will result in a very generous $5 donation directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. What a perfect Christmas gift for just about ANYONE on your shopping list who could stand to benefit from these relaxing meditative CDs.

THANK YOU for supporting Kevin and Eve in this very worthy cause. ENJOY!

Global TeleClass ‘Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Even Through The Holidays And Beyond’ Coming November 19, 2009

Filed under: Events — jimmy @ 8:09 pm

The 2009 holiday season is coming up fast…are you ready for it?

It’s almost hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than one month away followed by weeks upon weeks of a barrage of temptation that happens annually during the holiday season between Turkey Day and New Year’s. But it’ll be here in full force before you know it and, especially if you are new to low-carb living, you absolutely need a strategy to help you stay committed to your healthy low-carb lifestyle during this critical time of the year. That’s why I’m pleased to announce my upcoming Global TeleClass entitled “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Even Through The Holidays And Beyond” coming up on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:00PM ET.

It’s pretty ironic when you stop and think about it how quite literally millions of otherwise health-conscious Americans allow those several weeks that comprise the Christmas season to give them free license to eat all sorts of garbage that they would not typically put in their mouth simply because it’s “the holidays.” The rationalization is that it’s only for a few weeks, so what’s the harm? However, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from nearly six years of livin’ la vida low-carb, it’s this — you’ve got to implement a strategy that will help you keep your weight and health in check throughout the year (and that includes the holidays) if you ever hope to make lasting, permanent lifestyle changes that will benefit you long-term. This is what I will be sharing about during my Global TeleClass just one week before Thanksgiving!

When I weighed in at an unhealthy, morbidly obese 410 pounds just prior to 2004, I was one of those people who ate and ate and ate during the holidays. From the abundance of chocolate candy to cookies and cakes and pies that pop up everywhere during this time of the year, it’s almost impossible to avoid it. The pull to eat what most people would consider junk is stronger now than at any other time over the course of the year, so it’s important to know what you can do to make better choices for the sake of your health. This TeleClass will arm you with easily implementable strategies to help you make it through the upcoming holiday season…and beyond! Why not get a head start on your New Year’s resolutions to avoid the heartache and disappointment that comes from the guilt of overindulging at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s parties?

While you’re signing up to attend my TeleClass, be sure to check out all the others who will also be conducting training classes on a variety of subjects. These are all absolutely 100% free for you to attend and you can participate in as many classes as you wish from the comfort of your home and the convenience of your telephone or computer. These classes will help to educate, encourage and inspire you featuring some of the most respected speakers in the Health, Personal Development and Sales & Marketing industries.

Go to GlobalTeleClass.com to see the full details of the line-up for November 2009, including the following scheduled speakers:

Health: Steven Frank, Jennifer Hough, Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo, Elaine Petrone, Eric Rolf, Nancy Desjardins, Dr. John Schinnerer, and me, Jimmy Moore

Sales & Marketing: Beatty Carmichael, Angela Treat Lyon, Heather Picken, Jerry Ellefson, Rik Schnabel, Ed Dacey, and Mary Beth Lozano

Personal Development: Joan Marie Whelan, Dr. Rick Brinkman, Satyen Raja, Leslie Householder, Dr. Gloria Burgess, Ken Foster & Amazon John Easterling, Debbie Friedman, Stephanie Frank, Nanette Geiger, Katana Abbott, Philip Tirone, Deborah Skye King, Michelle Rigg, Wes Hopper, and Steve Keough

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to attend these exciting Global TeleClass events throughout the month of November, including mine coming up on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:00PM ET. THANKS for all your support of the work I am doing to spread the message of healthy low-carb living! If you missed my debut Global TeleClass back in June 2009, then CLICK HERE to listen as I shared about my upcoming new book 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb.

Low-Carbers In Triangle Area Of NC: Come Have Dinner With Jimmy & Christine Moore On October 19, 2009

Filed under: Events — jimmy @ 10:30 pm

Enjoy gathering with your fellow low-carbers in the Triangle area

For those of you who live in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area of North Carolina, I’d like to cordially invite you to come have dinner with me and Christine on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:30PM at the Eno River Eatery located at 5277 N. Roxboro Road in Durham. We’d love to meet new friends of the blog as well as reconnect with people we saw on our previous visit in May 2008. It would be such an honor to meet you in person and show our sincere appreciation for all of your support of “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb.”

We’ll be in your neck of the woods for a couple of days visiting the LipoScience laboratories in Raleigh where the NMR LipoProfile test is conducted to learn more about the fine work they are doing with particle size testing of cholesterol. I write about this particular test rather extensively in an entire chapter of my upcoming new book 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb: How the Healthy Low-Carb Lifestyle Changed Everything I Thought I Knew (by the way, I found a fantastic self-publishing print-on-demand company who is in the midst of making my manuscript into a book as we speak!) and we will be shooting some YouTube video footage as well as setting up a podcast interview with a representative from LipoScience following our visit. It should be an exciting time!

For everyone who comes out next Monday to the Eno River Eatery to meet with us, I’ll provide complimentary copies of that cholesterol chapter from 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb as my special FREE gift to you just for taking the time to come out and see us. We really do enjoy making the short three-hour trek up I-85 from our hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina to see all the enthusiastic low-carbers in the Triangle area. And let me tell you — there are a BUNCH of you guys there, too, because I get your e-mails all the time.

I don’t know if he’ll make it or not, but I’m going to invite my friend low-carb researcher and practitioner Dr. Eric Westman to join us at the dinner meet-up with the low-carbers. He will be coming with us again on The 3rd Annual Low-Carb Cruise to the Bahamas in March 2010 where we might see him sing a low-carb karaoke song again. Who knows, he might bust out singing at tune at this meet-up as well…hey, you never know what might happen!

Do you think you can join us for dinner in Durham on October 19, 2009? If so, then please RSVP that you’re coming by e-mailing me ASAP to livinlowcarbman@charter.net. We look forward to seeing a dozen or two low-carb fans come out and say hey! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

In Episode 285 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we hear from Debbie Hubbs and Ailsa Washington as they talk about The 3rd Annual Low-Carb Cruise to the Bahamas leaving out of Jacksonville, Florida on the Carnival Fascination on March 6-11, 2010. Debbie hails from the state of Arizona and offers up some great personal experiences and tips about making the most of your cruise experience. She brags about how the guest speakers intermingled with the group and offered up such great advice and information that they even influenced people like her husband Don who has lost 50 pounds on low-carb since coming back from the 2009 cruise. Ailsa comes all the way across the pond in the UK on the low-carb cruises and talks about the international flair she and her significant other Chris have brought to this event. She discusses her favorite parts of cruising, the excursions you can enjoy, the allure of bringing your kids on this cruise, and the tremendous benefits of going on a cruise. Kimkins Class Action Lawsuit Moves Forward, 40,000 Former Members Automatically Qualify

Filed under: Events — jimmy @ 7:13 pm

Just a quick update on the ongoing class action lawsuit against Heidi Kimberly Diaz and her Kimkins diet scam. You’ll recall I told you about a desperate Diaz firing her original attorney and filing for bankruptcy back in January after being disgraced with the dubious distinction of being awarded the “Worst Diet Product” of 2008 award. Things just aren’t looking too good for the Corona, California woman who is in a rather precarious position after the devious shenanigans she has attempted to pull off with this low-fat, low-carb, starvation diet scheme. I’m dedicating an entire chapter of my upcoming August 2009 book release 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb to the subject of avoiding people like Heidi Diaz who are lurking about online looking for victims to devour.

Basically this four-page document is to serve notice of the impending class action lawsuit against Diaz and is directed to “everyone who purchased a membership to Kimkins through the Kimkins web site from January 1, 2005 to October 15, 2007.” This is a REAL case that is set to take place on August 24, 2009 at 8:30AM PT in Riverside County Superior Court in Riverside, California.

Click here to access the class action lawsuit papers to find out how YOU can possibly participate in it if you purchased a Kimkins membership during the allotted dates.
